Recent studies have documented startling facts about Christianity in the West today as compared to the early church, especially as it relates to impacting culture for Christ. According to these studies, the Western church today is more educated and has more resources than ever before, and yet is having less impact than one might expect. A key part of the problem seems to be a lack of discipleship in the Western church, and thus, the Summit exists to encourage a restoration of Biblical discipleship in and through the local church.
